hi i have been playing dota for more than 10 years since old….old…..times. as all veteran dota players already know, all the usual room matchs are always considered by players. if players see there are a lot of winrate players in his team, he will think his team is good with skilled players. a long time ago before rgc even implement matchmaking, the trend is players with high points. now the trend is high winrate players. if he think the room game is filled with low winrate palyers, then this is bound to be flop and despair game. they are bound to be losing (or very high chance of losing) at the end of match. you can even already guess that. because all high winrate/hifg points player will usually stick together. because everyone want decent teammates that can “actually” play. and not noob/newbies that testing heroes as teammate, right? thats why during many lobby gamr room, players tend to go in and go out of lobby room. they decided not to !ready because they always assessed the enemy and their teammate first. this make the game room cannot start quickly and become less-efficient. and beside, even if the game do start, many times it wont be exciting balanced game. it will mostly become too overpower team one-sided the enemy team. thats also why many new players got points below 1500 quickly and always losing games witj very low winrate. they simply got massacred. losing more than 10 games in a row is no exaggeration. it truly happen. why? because team full of skilled/decent player sticked together against less skilled sticked together. the irony is the one who agree to quickly type !ready are those less skilled one. the one who love to calculate what players in his team or who is the enemy are the more decent player. i mean they are more veteran player, that why they understand to wait and checks stats of other players. thats why the high point tend to always winning and the lower point less decent players keep getting even lower point. in my opinion, this wont be healthy type of gaming.
in order to properly balance the game, i think thats why rgc implement matchmaking. now matchmaking also has problem. the bigger your points are, the bigger chance you ended up with all newbie/noob players, and you cant refuse the match like sign in system. if you dont believe it, ask any other veteran players. thats the reason matchmaking also has many complaint. 1 pro players with 4 noob still cant change the game outcome against 5 average-decent players. it still resulted in new form of despair match (different from first case despair one-sided match above). thats why they implement back the previous sign system again. its better that matchmaking because players can assess and choose whether to enter the game room or not while in lobby. but it has problem like explained above. more decent/skilled people choose to stick together against less skilled sticked together….our classy one sided match keep repetiting itself
i think the best solution so people not tend to in and out of game room and to “balance” it fairly is by randomly shuffling the players. use command of -apsp (there is shuffle players) after the game start. this way, no one will know who teammates they ended up with. every players is randomize between 2 teams and all is depend on luck. mostly this will balance all players because lets say team 1 with 5 skilled players vs team 2 with 5 less skilled players. after -sp, the game has higher chance of distributing people randomly. mostly ended with 2-3 of those 5 skilled players in team 1. and those remaining 2-3 of the skilled ine in team 2. this is more fairer way to balance players than matchmaking. everything is randomized based on luck.
before playing on rgc, me and my friend used to play on battle net with our own countrymen only but the players can be 100 more in numbers. and almost all the match use -apsp as the default setting. to fairly randomized people so it is fair. the skilled one can ended up as your teammate. or as your enemy. it make game more exciting and fairly. so we wont have cases of playing more than 10 match and keep losing because you got one-sided game every single times (all 5 stacked skilled palyer vs all 5 less skilled). everyone (every newbie/noob) has the chance of playing winning game when they got team with at least 2 or 3 more skilled/dominant teammates. and believe me, newbie people learn to be more skillful when they actually played with more skilled players. they grow, they learn coordination and what need/cannot be done. in fact, they wont learn anything if they keep losing lots of game in a row because unfair one-sided team match. it only stressed people out
now i am not sating this because i have low winrate. my winrate is lets say pretty decent, at least above 50%. but i know many less skilled players experiencing this problem from long times ago from the first sign in system still used before matchmaking. very simple, just add feature of -apsp to the game at sign option. and for people whi want play stacked with their friend, they can just choose the “-ap” only, the game room will be -ap public. for the default one, it will be “-apsp” in which the game room will be -apsp public
